Today Your Child Learned...
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development...
Today’s PSHE Lesson
Navigation (Using The Night Sky To Navigate)
Our amazing planet has a sky full of stars, planets, moons and meteors that we may get to see on a clear, dark night. The universe has been fascinating scientists for many years and continues to excite us today. Using this free navigation resource to find out where we are and where we’re heading is something that not many of us think about using today.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons...
- Look at the shape of the moon and discuss that the reason we can see it is because the light from the sun reflects on the surface.
- You could visit an observatory to learn more about the night sky and navigation.
- Ask your child’s school to invite a travelling planetarium in to visit to show the children what the night sky looks like, how to name stars and planets and how we get our day, night and seasons.
- Talk about how light pollution can prevent us from seeing the night sky in all its glory and what we could do about preserving this magnificent view for future generation.
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
