Today Your Child Learned...
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development...
Today’s PSHE Lesson
Law (How Laws Are Made And Changed)
Talking about how the law is made in the UK is the focus of this lesson, learning how the general public can have an influence on the bills placed before Parliament and UK law is important to understand. Understanding how voting and petitioning can work to bring about change is important too. The Government frequently talks about encouraging the public to have their say and wants them to vote therefore it’s important for our children to know why having a voice to make changes is important for us all.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons...
- Involve your children in discussions around current affairs and how change can happen.
- Ask your child whether they would change any laws or if they have any views about what should be written into law.
- Talk about how public petitions can make a difference to the Government making changes, see if you can find out together what some petitions have been for, like the petition for a strategy to ensure that people with Autism get the support and services they need.
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
